Mission and goals of the PARC Museum

The commitment P.AR.C.’s commitment. is expressed in the investment of resources and energy in the search for opportunities and languages aimed at a dialogue with the societies of its territory, presenting the scientific evidence of the area, both archaeological and paleontological. In this sense, the museum identifies museum education, seen as a dynamic system of communication and learning, as a resource and medium. The museum identifies the dimension of cultural restitution as the value of its operativeness. Restitution in terms of active participation in the culture and growth of the place in which the Museum resides in order to position itself, true to its thematic and museum-like nature, as a hub of social interest stimulating reflections on the quality of life, a driving force behind initiatives aimed at education and dialogue on issues of knowledge, identity, diversity and belonging. The action The P.AR.C. addresses all citizens indiscriminately in order to: – Contribute to the development of the local community and its area; – participate, to the extent of its competence, in the events and projects of civil and cultural growth of its social reality; – contribute to that reflection on the quality of life that arises from an awareness of the inescapable relationship between memory, cultural-historical identity and science; – To contribute to the development of culture in general and reading, with special attention toward childhood; The Museum also pays special attention to the values of social encounter, the recovery of a proper relationship between consumption, resource exploitation and manual skills, and knowledge of history as a guarantee for the realization of perspectives on the individual and collective future.
